Restore Missing Teeth with Dental Implants
What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants offer a secure, natural-looking way to replace one or more missing teeth, helping to restore both the appearance and function of your smile.
Each implant restoration is made up of three main parts. A titanium implant is carefully placed within the jawbone to act like an artificial tooth root. This supports an abutment, onto which a custom-made dental crown is fitted. Once complete, the restoration remains firmly in place, allowing you to eat, speak and smile with greater confidence.

Planning Your Dental Implant Treatment
When Should I Replace a Missing Tooth?
It is helpful to seek advice soon after losing a tooth, as the jawbone in the area can gradually reduce when it is no longer supporting a natural tooth root.
If your tooth still needs to be extracted, this can be considered as part of your personalised treatment plan. We will assess your mouth, discuss the appropriate timing and explain whether any additional preparation may be required before implant placement.
How Long Can a Dental Implant Last?
With good oral hygiene, regular dental appointments and appropriate ongoing care, a dental implant can provide a long-term replacement for a missing tooth.
Unlike a removable denture, an implant is fixed securely in the mouth. It can also replace a tooth without routinely requiring the neighbouring healthy teeth to be prepared in the way they may be for a conventional dental bridge.
Your Dental Implant Procedure
The implant is first placed within the jawbone under local anaesthetic. It is then allowed time to heal and integrate securely with the surrounding bone. This healing period will vary between patients but can take approximately four to eight months.
Once the implant is ready, the final crown is attached to create your replacement tooth. Where suitable, a temporary tooth may be provided during healing so that you can continue to smile and eat comfortably between appointments.

Dental Implant FAQ's
How much does a dental implant cost?
Single-tooth dental implants start from £2,250. Your exact cost will depend on your individual needs, the complexity of treatment and whether any additional procedures are required. Following your implant consultation, we will provide a clear, personalised treatment plan and full cost breakdown.
Does having a dental implant placed hurt?
Dental implant surgery is carried out using local anaesthetic, which numbs the treatment area and helps keep you comfortable throughout the procedure. Some soreness or swelling may occur afterwards, but we will provide clear aftercare guidance to support your recovery. Sedation may also be available for patients who feel particularly anxious about treatment.
How long does dental implant surgery take?
The placement procedure can take approximately one to two hours, although the exact time will depend on the number of implants being placed and the complexity of your treatment. Your dentist will explain what to expect before your appointment.
How will I know if I am suitable for dental implants?
Your suitability will be assessed during a detailed consultation. We will examine the health of your teeth and gums, review your medical and dental history and check the amount and quality of bone available to support an implant.
Our in-house 3D scanner allows us to assess the jaw in greater detail and plan treatment carefully. If there is insufficient bone, we can discuss whether a bone graft or another preparatory procedure may make implant treatment possible.
